The
Tsou are subdivided into the Tsou proper, the Kanakanabu, and the Saaroa,
but all share the same two fundamental musical scales. One is pentatonic
mainly used for monophonic songs, the other consists of do, mi, sol with
many songs ending on do or sol in the harmonic style. Some other songs
are mainly constructed with do, mi, and sol, but sometimes re or la is
added in the harmonic style.
